Marula Oil Serum

The “tree of the elephants” is an ancient plant with a long history in South Africa. Many parts of the tree are used in traditional medicine.

The fruit, which ripens from January to March, is known for it's very high vitamin C content. Derived from the kernels, the oil is highly nutritious and light textured. It is naturally soothing, fast-absorbing and especially suited for dry and mature skin. It contains powerful antioxidants, hydrates at the deepest levels and repairs the skin from within. It can also help heal and reduce scars and stretch marks.

Benefits

  1. Deep Hydration: Marula oil is rich in oleic acid, which penetrates deeply into the skin, providing intense hydration and improving the skin's overall moisture retention.
  2. Antioxidant Protection: Packed with antioxidants, including Vitamin E and C, Marula oil shields the skin from oxidative stress, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging.
  3. Enhanced Elasticity: The oil's ability to boost collagen production and improve skin's elasticity contributes to a firmer, more youthful complexion.
  4. Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Marula oil's anti-inflammatory properties help calm and soothe irritated skin, making it particularly beneficial for those with sensitive or reactive skin conditions.
  5. Balancing and Nourishing: Despite being rich in beneficial oils, Marula oil has a lightweight texture that balances oil production and nourishes the skin without clogging pores, making it suitable for a variety of skin types, including oily or combination skin.

ARTISAN SOAP

There are different methods of making soap. However, the one I believe creates the best quality bar of soap is called the cold process method. This method creates gentle and mild soaps which cure over several weeks.

Real handmade soap contains raw ingredients that include butters, fat or oil, and lye.

Most mass-produced bars we buy in the supermarkets have nothing in common with “real” soap as they contain synthetic ingredients such as harsh detergents, hardening agents, artificial fragrances and colours. These strip your skin off its natural barrier and can leave it dry and irritated.

Bad for you, good for the industry. Instead of purchasing one product which cleans and moisturises you will have to buy two or more products to serve the same purpose.

I only use high quality, natural, cold pressed and raw, plant based oils and butters to produce my soaps. Not only does this create an incredibly gentle cleansing product, that positively supports the natural function of your skin. It also gives it a delicate and natural scent - without having to add any chemical additives.

For better understanding what we put into and onto our bodies we should always read the labels on the back carefully.
